I've compiled avr-gcc and I've have support for AT90USB1287 (I've have
the AT90USBKEY too). The options for configure script were:
./configure --target=avr --program-prefix=avr- --enable-languages=c
--disable-libssp
the version of avr-gcc is :
address@hidden:~$ avr-gcc --version
avr-gcc (GCC) 4.2.0 20060807 (experimental)

I've tried dfu-programmer and works fine, but I need root permissions.
