As I have written in my e-mail, I have tryed both AVR Studio 3.54 and AVR Studio 3.55 and in both cases AVR Studio crash loading the file.

The images in the attacchement was the crash trying loading cof file of version 3.55.

Dear Atmel people,

 

as already reported by others on AVRFreaks.net and avr-gcc-list forum, there are problems loading COF file.

 

I'm using AT90S8515 and external RAM, AVR-GCC 3.0 and AVR STUDIO 3.53 with ICE200 emulator with COF file in WIN32.
When I load the COF file in AVR STUDIO, it crash.

 

I also download AVR STUDIO 4.02 and it load without errors the same COF file.
Since I have problem using ICE200 with studio 4.02 (after RUN, I cannot stop the program and single step it), at the moment I can only use studio 3.x.

 

I downloaded also Studio 3.54 and Studio 3.55 hoping you solved the problem, and I read in the release note that you fixed problems with large COF file.

 

Unfortunately, I still have the same problem (crash).

 

Since is evident that the problem is in studio 3.x, please correct this problem as done in Studio 4.02.

 

Attached You can find the screen dump of the error and also the COF file.
If you need, I can also send you the source code of the project.

 

Will ever be added to AVR studio the native ELF support ?
