IMHO it's not supported due to the lack of RAM (and due to its more
limited instruction set, compared to the larger AVRs). There's
limited support in the header files for assembler (i. e. there's an
<io1200.h> file that declares the IO macros that can be used in
assembler files that are run through the C preprocessor).
