What's the content of your test/Makefile.am file?  It should be
something similar to
  bin_PROGRAMS = main
  main_SOURCES = main.cpp
  main_LDADD = ../../../foo1/foo1/libfoo1.la \
               ../../../foo2/foo2/libfoo2.la \
               ../../../foo3/foo3/libfoo3.la
