Automake 1.7 Bug?

Hi, everyone,

My efforts to update this build environment continue.  Running automake
(1.7) on my existing configure.in reports the following error:

A quick search of the net leads me to believe that this may be a 1.7 bug
related to a large number of files in AC_OUTPUT for which there is no
workaround (besides a version upgrade).  Would someone *please* tell me
how and why I'm wrong?  :)
