Same nit as for the other patches: leading "* " missing from all entries
in the commit message.

Apart from that, and assuming you've squashed in the fixlets listed in
your reply to this patch, OK *** for maint *** (you'll have to move the
changes done to 'tests/suffix8.tap' to 'tests/suffix8.test', but that
should be trivial).
