It should still be recognized, but as a first (optionnal)
argument. (That reminds me I haven't tested this yet.)

It's not clear to me how this is possible, unless we decide that
AM_AUTOMAKE_OPTIONS must be called *before* AM_INIT_AUTOMAKE.
