Python 2.7.17 seems to be pretty portable for the moment. :-)
It would be fine to add an option (default off) to make Autoconf pickier
about the shell, and letting people try the option who want to try it. We
coould change the default later as experience rolls in.
It would be useful if Automake's 'distcheck' would arrange to execute
configure under different available shells to make sure that the
results are the same.
