A quick test showed me that with current bash, the '-x' is redundant here.
But I've been using "bash -x -n configure" for 15 years, so I recommended that
because "my grandma already did it like this".

Fine with me, except that the ChangeLog entry should mention 'bash -n',
not 'bash -x'.
