I'm okay with your proposed wording. A GNU package where 'make uninstall'
doesn't work is violating the GNU coding standards; also, packagers are free to
write custom INSTALL files if they don't like the Autoconf boilerplate.
How about you commit it (to give you some git push experience), along with an
update to the THANKS file.
