Derek seems very interested in Autotest :-) For obvious reasons (I'm primarily
an
Autoconf user) I picked a job that was more appealing as it promised to cut both
Autoconf running time and configure script size -- but I understand that the
direction
to follow must be another, and it is in your hands.
Anyway, yes, this looks like an interesting quest and it might be a way to
understand
the Broken pipes more fully (though if there's a race condition, running under
redirection might just hide it because of different latencies, just like it
does in the
second run).
