I must admit that I don't understand the reason, but since you have spent
your time doing this there must be some justification :-)
My guess based on the previous discussion - if somebody implements support
for another language and doesn't define _AC_LANG_ABBREV but uses it
autoconf will fail instead of using e.g. ac__preproc_warn_flag. Is that
your idea?
I'm not sure if I'm eligible to vote, but you have my Ok.
