Hi,
I have successfully installed and configured aspell 0.50.2 now.
I followed this steps :
- Removed previous versions of aspell (aspell 0.3x comes with RedHat
distribution.)
- Install fresh aspell 0.50.2 version.
(configure && make && make install)
- Install aspell-en-0.50-2.tar dictionary
(configure && make && make install)
And thats all.
-> The same also works on cygwin on WinNT4.0.
I am not sure of whats that error (in previous mail) about.
Is it due to some conflicts with previous versions ?
Regards,
Atur Shah

Subject: [Aspell-user] Aspell Dictionary Configuration Error
Hi,
I have installed latest aspell. (configure , make, make install) on Red
Hat Linux 7.2
bash-2.05# aspell -v
@(#) International Ispell Version 3.1.20 (but really Aspell
0.50.1)
I have aspell.conf located in /usr/local/etc directory with following
configration parameters set :
master /usr/lib/aspell/american
I have this file in /usr/lib/aspell directory :
american-med.multi
american.multi -> american-med.multi
I am getting this error :
bash-2.05# aspell check <filename>
Unhandled Error: The file "/usr/lib/aspell/english-med-only" is
not in the proper format.
Am I missing something in configuration ??
