That's ok.  For this problem, I don't think we need it.

For some reason, it didn't copy the tar file over, and didn't fail
properly.  What happens when you do

gnomevfs-copy 
http://superbeast.ucsd.edu/~landry/ArX/wlandry/arx/2/1/,99/arx.2.1,99.patches.tar.gz
 file:///your/current_directory/arx-patch

and 

gnomevfs-copy 
http://superbeast.ucsd.edu/~landry/ArX/wlandry/arx/2/1/%2C99/arx.2.1%2C99.patches.tar.gz
 file:///your/current_directory/arx-patch
