Not that I am aware of, plain vanilla ALSA setup.
Regarding the mem-CPU leak and the visu problem I found out something new.

sid plugin ...... works
mp3 ............. works
mikdmod ......... works
modplug ......... cpu and mem slowly increasing and no visu <--- works with the 
OSS plug-in

Rather sad, since modplug is better than mikmod IMHO ;)
