I recently came accross
an Intel news about their
prototype STM C/C++ compiler:

I thought that DLock user/developers may be interested
in the subject I have just discovered:

I don't want to say Dlock is not useful (it is a valuable piece of software)
but may be we may think about lock-free design in some cases.
