I’m just an ordinary Linux user.  As an observation Synaptic is one of several choices as a package manager.  It would appear that the people who manage a distribution would be better placed to choose an assortment of package managers.

I love Synaptic so much its so useful that i have to suggest that synaptic should be pre-installed in Ubuntu
