1. gif2swf doesn't handle the animated frames correctly, erasing the
entire image instead of just changed places. see attached example.
2. "backgroundcolor" doesn't work, you probably meant "background"

Convert the gif to a SWF first:
gif2swf image.gif -o image.swf
and then include the image as swf:
.swf image "image.swf"
