I think this feature has to be there, because I see things differently:
projects do not have owners, but contributors. At any time, you can quit a
project you are administrator of, and pass that role to somebody else. You can
also quit a project to show that it needs a new maintainer.

What is buggy, though, is that you were told you could not be removed from your
project, but actually you were. I will check that soon.

About removing your project, as I said, we consider software do not have
owners, and thus we have some policies on deleting projects.

If you just plan to move your project to somewhere else, it is ok to delete it
to avoid confusion. Please tell me where you move in that case - we won't hate
you because you prefer another service.

If you just want to delete the project because you are not working on it, then
we prefer to keep the code online so that it may serve somebody else's purposes.

Category: System Backend
Severity: 5 - Average
Priority: 5 - Normal
Resolution: None
Assigned to: Beuc
Status: Open
Fixed Release:
Affected release:

Summary: removing yourself as a project owner possible

Original Submission: I was project owner of pytexbill. I tried to remove the
entire project from savannah by clicking on the trashcan icon besides the
project name. I got a Javascript warning that this isn't possible to remove me
from the memberlist, which is right, because i was the project owner.
Unfortunately, the system removed me from the member list, so the project now
has 0 members.

I think this shouldn't happen. If you're able to remove the entire "pytexbill"
project, while fixing this problem I would be happy.

Thanks!!
