Summary:  cvs operations giving strange error

Original Submission:  The following just started in the last couple of hours, 
which is preventing me from using "cvs add", "cvs update", etc:

If even the admins can't log in because no shell can be started, maybe the 
admins could upload new shell init scripts using sftp.
