Summary:  Sporadic corruption of large files

Original Submission:  There have been corruptions on at least 2 occations of 
ChangeLog files in the Emacs CVS repository.
For emacs/src/ChangeLog there is this entry (note number of deleted lines):

Revision 1.3109 / (view) - annotate - [select for diffs] , Wed Feb 19 13:07:30 
2003 UTC (12 days, 4 hours ago) by schwab

Changes since 1.3108: +1626 -5848 lines 

and for emacs/lisp/ChangeLog there is this:

Changes since 1.3831: +268 -6260 lines

Since these checkins are on files that just grows and the checkins have been 
made by two different users, one might suspect a bug in CVS at savannah.
