i'm going to try:
* > - feature: import RSS feeds (filtered syndication of blogosphere)
i've started RTFMing a bit about basic ruby (/me has no OO experience :P)
and i'm likely to start experimenting in the next few days.
Start with this excellent book:
http://rubycentral.com/book/
It is a bit dated as it only covers ruby 1.6 (new edition is pay-only
for now), but there's not too much difference in the language itself,
mostly in new standard libraries.
Then quickly catch up to Ruby 1.8:
http://whytheluckystiff.net/articles/rubyOneEightOh.html
dmitry - i looked for the standard ruby library package you mentioned
in /usr/share/doc/libruby1.8/README and i guess you mean REXML ??
No. REXML is there and it's very good, but there's also RSS library
included since I think Ruby 1.8.2. See /usr/lib/ruby/1.8/rss/
i also found this discussion:
http://www.ruby-forum.com/topic/78027
which points to what seem to be at least 4 different ruby packages/routines:
http://raa.ruby-lang.org/project/rss/
That's the one. It is now part of standard Ruby library.
i'll also do:
* > - bug: fix translations (?)
pl - there are some pl translations missing
fr - totally absent at the moment - i should hopefully be able to get this done
this week
That'd be nice :)
BTW: does anyone know if we are ok with BIDI (bidirectional text - like
hebrew and farsi/arabic) ?
Can't say. Since it's full Unicode, it should work, although there are
things like "text-align: left" in the CSS that could make it look less
pretty than it has to be.
