Summary:  Menu background needs to be finished and alpha-less

Original Submission:  The multilayer background of the menu needs to be:

1.) finished, since its current half in sketch form

2.) alpha-less, it currently uses alpha-channel to blend over the multiple 
layers, which is to CPU intensive and unnecesarry. It also forces the use of 
.png files, which are a lot larger than jpegs.
