Follow-up Comment #2:

As you can probably tell, the benchmark package is completely unmaintained at
this point, it hasn't been touched since 2010.

If you want to maintain it in Octave Forge, your work would probably be
welcome. Or if you want to maintain your own outside of Octave Forge, that is
incredibly easy now that pkg allows installing from any URL.
