Follow-up Comment #3, bug#65134 (group octave):

just adding that the public docs make no mention of the assumed meshgrid
intent for 3d (...,xq,yq,zq,...) input form, and sure enough any combination
where xq, yq, and zq aren't the same size (including vector orientation)
results in an error. If they are the same size (vector or matrix), the output
size matches the input. so input vectors return output as a same sized vector.
