Follow-up Comment #13, bug #55667 (project octave):

Yeah, if you are happy to implement a special feature like that to handle it,
I will gladly give up my workaround and use that instead. I'd be happy to use
either an m-file hook in the +pkg directory or some C++ registration call that
inserted such a hook into the namespace resolution.

I just need either the complete string passed in, or the equivalent "subs"
struct that would be passed in to subsref/subsasgn, created from the parts
that come after the "pkg.", whichever makes the most sense.
