Follow-up Comment #25, bug #52809 (project octave):
On my system with bm_for_loop.m I see the following results:
4.2.2: 2.5 seconds
5.0.0: 3.5 seconds
With my call stack refactoring branch (jwe-call-stack-refactor bookmark at
http://hg.octave.org/octave-jwe) I see around 2.5 seconds again and I think
there is still room for improvement.
I'll post more about the call stack refactoring changes to the maintainers
list soon.
