No, it is not ncurses based....
# ldd mhshow
libiconv.so.2 => /usr/local/lib/libiconv.so.2 (0x00002af0a6328000)
libtermcap.so.2 => /lib64/libtermcap.so.2 (0x00002af0a6609000)
libc.so.6 => /lib64/libc.so.6 (0x00002af0a680c000)
/lib64/ld-linux-x86-64.so.2 (0x00002af0a610b000)
No nmh file links to curses, and especially not show which would be the most
obvious command to use curses.
However, my helper command vpick does use curses
