Summary: Inexplainable massive source counts

Original Submission: In the recent weeks, I've seen an rather bizarre effect
with mldonkey. For popular files, the source count quickly goes up to around
30000, is then eventually reduced to the configured source count limit (500),
goes up quickly again and so on and so on...

The source flooding seems to effectivly prevent normal downloads from taking
place; most of the upstream bandwidth seems to be spent in managing the sources.

I've seen this with 2.5.21, but cross-checked with 2.5.20 and 2.5.19 that is
happens there as well.

Activated networks are Donkey and Bittorrent. All Donkey settings are at their
defaults (except for the ClientID). An randomly choosen example of such a file
is:

This doesn NOT happen with 2.5.16 (same settings, same files)
