Had the same problem! There is even no 'lib' directory  in usr/local.

Hi, I'm sure this is a basic question but I wasn't able
to find anything in the faqs or my quick searches.  I'm
running Mac OS X 10.1.5 and the
mldonkey-2.00.shared.power-Darwin.tar.gz package. 
Since upgrading from 1.16 I believe, I get the
following error on startup: ./mldonkey
dyld: ./mldonkey can't open library:
/usr/local/lib/libdl.dylib  (No such file or directory,
errno = 2).  
I'd very much appreciate any help understanding and
correcting this problem.  Thanks.
