Summary:  hangups (no crash) in the newest beta

Original Submission:  mldonkey does not response for some minutes. verbose = 
true. often after the "remember 'md4'" message. then mldonkey works fine 
(downloads and gui...) but after several minutes its stops again. this all 3 
minutes or shorter. 

system: athlon 600, 256 ram, reiser fs (80GB), dsl 768/128.
