HD accesses are limited to:
1) log file: pipe the output of mldonkey to /dev/null 
to avoid that.
2) download/upload: each time a message is sent or 
received, mldonkey must seek on the disk, and 
read/write the content of the message.
3) md4 computation: from time to time, and when finding 
new sources for a file, mldonkey tries to compute the 
md4 of the chunks being downloaded or shared. 
Nevertheless, this should disappear when all chunks md4 
have been computed.

hi. running mldonkey 1.16 on a duron 1ghz, gentoo
linux, originally everything was fine but now my hd is
just spinning out of control even if practically nobody
is downloading from me (even if i set max speed to 1)
and my downloads are only going ~5k/sec
its apparent its slowing down the entire system as well. :{
