Hey Laura, this is great!  I will refer to this email later when

Yes you are right.

Aha... I have made a note to make sure what the process is.  I need to
think about.  At any rate, the current docs are not so wrong... but
maybe there's a way to leverage something involving "make".

The "stable" should become v0.8.0 when it's released, which can make
this easier because one can just check out master.  Anyway, I think your
git commands are right, except there's no need to checkout master.
