Thanks again for the analysis and patch.  Have you checked if the bug is
still present in CVS head?

Unfortunately, this is not good enough for the lawyers.  See the
information at
http://www.gnu.org/prep/maintain/maintain.html#Copyright-Papers.  I don't
(yet) have access to the form you will need to fill in to start the
copyright process; Gary, can you get John started?
