Full support for SGML would imply this.
It requires a fairly full style sheet implementation, as XML is semantically
equivalent to HTML made from, more or less, only:
<A...
<SPAN CLASS=...
<DIV CLASS=...
except that there is no distinction between SPAN and DIV as only the
effective class is in the document; even the block or display style needs
to be determined from the stylesheet.
