That is a good idea indeed.

We are in the process of issuing a new Android release in the next few days, I will advocate that we put them on the http://linphone.org/releases/ website for download.

The reason I ask is that some users do not use Google Play to install
Linphone, while F-Droid have compilation trouble and have recently
removed Linphone altogether. Of course, one may  use nightly builds:
https://www.linphone.org/snapshots/android/

but then if you'd like a nightly close to a release (Sep 2014), it's
no longer available.

Bottom line, it would be great if you allowed downloading released
APKs from somewhere on your website, or from Github.
