Currently http://tkd.kicks-ass.net/GnuLibtoolProject/Roadmap says:

Is this just that argz.m4 is always added to a client by libtoolize,
but sometimes
might not be needed?
If so, I move to strike it as a showstopper, and worry about it
post-2.0.
