As Albert pointed out, I was looking at this backwards. The dependency_libs
listed in libXm.la should come *after* Xm on the link line.

This is what gets called by my makefile:
/bin/sh -x ../../libtool [..all the stuff mentioned in your earlier mail..]
|& build.log
~ and send me the build.log in a private mail. Then I can see where the
strangeness is coming from and hopefully fix it. I'm betting that it is my
fault, it's been that kind of week.
