The core lt_dlinit/lt_dlopen/lt_dlsym/lt_dlclose/lt_dlexit API remains
unchanged since its original introduction into libtool releases.
New calls have been added to exploit richer semantics and new
features over the years... user loader discipline management, library
search path maintenance etc.

I am sure that new features will continue to creep in over time, and
new API entry points will be added, but I would be very surprised if
binary compatibility were broken.
ok, that's great to hear. user loader discipline management is most
interesting to me -- do you know of any examples of `lt_dlsetsearchpath'
use i could look at and study? (i notice libtool-1.4.2 has demo/,
depdemo/, cdemo/ and mdemo/ but these don't use `lt_dlsetsearchpath',
and a google search turns up libtool docs only.)
