Evaluating a portfolio is computationally intensive. The Patent Factor
Index evaluation system evaluates every portfolio patent against the
100 most closely related patents before generating patent quality
scores. For instance, the analysis of a 1,000 patent portfolio compares
those 1,000 patents against the closest 100,000 patents. It then
computes 3,000,000 data points used in scoring each of the portfolio
patents. This analysis method emulates the kind of comparative
evaluation that a skilled patent evaluator would use in a real world
