I see, thanks for the explanation! Does anyone know of software
similar to JBackPack that supports scheduling automatic backups?
You can configure JBackpack to remind you in a customizable frequency to run the backup. If you encrypt your backup (strongly recommended) you can not run the backup non-interactively anyway as you need to provide your password. If you want to run non-interactive, non-encrypted, automatic backups, just use a cron job with rdiff-backup as this is what JBackpack uses under the hood for all backup operations.
