For me, running tmux locally in an Xfce4-Terminal, using the Shift+arrow
keys and the Shift+Ctrl+arrow keys work fine: they select text.
Did you run tmux on a remote machine? If yes, what OS does that machine
have? Which version? Which version of nano on that machine?
