That's often the first thing to try, when
fumbling in the dark. Just bisect your
init file till you find the culprit.
That's quick to do (though at first it
seems not to be quick). You can use
`comment-region' to comment out a block
of code (a prefix arg uncomments). Do
that to 1/2, then 1/4, 1/8, 1/16,... of
your init file.
