interesting behavior when reloading a file? |

Hello all:
When I try to load a particular file then emacs goes through and "fontifies"
all my open buffers before loading the file. Below is the output of the
message buffer when I open file "ggswcfg.h." I do not understand why this is
happening...or in fact what it really means to fontify a buffer that is not
active. If I have a large number of buffers open then is takes several
seconds to open a new file.
Has anyone seen this before? Should this be happening? Is this delay in
opening a buffer to be expected?
Thanks in advance.
