Hi Fred,exactly: the same mingw but some older (I don't know how old) version of GNUstep kept DataBasin running an exporting in windows CP. Perhaps something in the configure script changed. II should try to make a minimal test program perhaps.

Could you please confirm this by down loading the old GNUstep base code and doing a configure for it? I am interested in the results for iconv. How and why would they be any different?
