Looking at the code, and trying to remember the NeXTstep, OPENSTEP and
Apple docs for services,
I think that this is not supposed to happen. I guess that service
names should be registered with a central
coordinating organisation (which was certainly supposed to be the case
for file extensions used by apps).
Some services providing apps had many services, and to avoid conflict
with service names from other apps, they used the appname/servicename
syntax for their services ... this results in a submenu (whose name is
appname) of the services menu, with all the services produced by the
app being placed in the submenu.
