I rewrote the libffi support in GNUstep Base so it sort-of works. There
are still some things that need to be fixed and cleaned up. I wouldn't
recommend trying it unless your in to fixing bugs.
You need libffi that comes with gcc 3.x (quite possibly a recent
snapshot or CVS version, particularly if you are not using
ix86/gnu-linux). It's not installed by default (at least not when I did
it), so after making gcc, go into the libffi build directory (on my
system that's powerpc-unknown-linux-gnu/libffi) and
make install
Then in gnustep-base
./configure --enable-libffi
and rebuild the rest of your system.
