What Hardware PC are you using?
Some specs would be helpful
Does this happen on installing other OS?
Trisquel by example?
Have you tried installing from a CD/DVD iso
it's mostly a Net Install and personally have
had no issues installing on HDD but i chose
guided & install all in one (for beginners)
Before Partinioning you can choose <GO BACK>and
<GO BACK> till you can "deteck disks>
