[ft] Smoother text?

Hello

I'm trying to get text to look as good as it does in flash. I'm using NME,
a haxe platform, which uses FreeType to render text on mac and iOS. There
are two screenshots of a test app below, one is in flash, the other is in
mac using FreeType 2.5.0.

Is it possible to make the text look as good as the flash version?
Will an upgrade of FreeType or some define fix it?
