You mean font rendering without anti-aliasing, right?

Calling the ftview demo program with

  ftview arial.ttf arialbd.ttf

then pressing the `a' key to disable anti-aliasing I can clearly see a
difference between those two fonts (switching forth and back with the
`n' and `p' keys).
